The United States Constitution grants citizens the rights to own weapons. However the rise in violent crime has cause some to call for the government to place controls on the number and types of guns available. Organizations like the National Rifle Association (NRA) argue that limiting guns will only take guns out of the hands of ordinary citizens, making them vulnerable.
